Lesson 5 – Museum

Three side-by-side geometric illustrations, each containing layered shapes in similar color schemes: the first is a blue circle filled with overlapping ovals and smaller circles; the second is a triangle with layered star-like shapes; and the third is a square with stacked rectangles and squares. The shapes are outlined in black with accents in yellow and blue, representing a stylized design for a museum or classroom art display.

Completing a virtual class museum trip is recommended at least three times over the course of the year to ensure a well-rounded art experience for the students.

Lesson 1 – Shapes & Contour Lines

A colorful student artwork of a bicycle features a hand-drawn frame shaded with watercolor or crayon in greens, blues, and yellows. The handlebars include brown leaf-like shapes with pink and purple tassels, while the tires are detailed with black shading and radiating spokes.

The TK–6 Discover Your Inner Artist curriculum provides students the opportunity to explore the seven elements of art, a few at a time, as they progress.
